(More customer reviews)This is my first review. Any suggestions on how to improve would be greatly appreciated, sarcastic or offensive are preferred if sincere. I only buy products that have customer reviews but an exception was made for this one. After searching for an additional guitar to use with my recently purchased Rock Band I decided to purchase this one and let people know my experience. The package arrived two days ahead of schedule. When I first opened the box I notice that the controller came in a guitar case shaped box which is a good thing for me because I like to take care of my stuff and the guitar stand that I am waiting for only holds two guitars which will be my Rock Band guitar and recently purchased Rock Band base guitar. Since the box also has a pick up strap it feels like a case and that's where I'll store it. The guitar itself is not as detailed as the Rock Band guitar but it does the job. It feels lighter and the fret buttons stick out of the neck which I personally prefer because I feel more accurate when playing. As for the size it is about 3-4 inches shorter overall than the R.B. guitar. Comes with a nice strap, and the adapter for the wireless signal. The only problem I had with it was the user's manual. I noticed a few differences between getting the guitar to work and the way the manual says to get it to work . If you have used the Rock Band guitar then adjusting to this one is no problem.
Pros:
Works with Guitar Hero 1,2,3, and Rock Band (don't know R.B.2)
About same size as Rock Band guitar (3-4 inches difference overall)
Lighter (I believe the weight is just more distributed)
10 frets (fun for solos on all games)
Overdrive works (I tilt guitar straight up and it always works)
Select button sticks out while Start button is in (no accidental pause)
Looks like it could take more of a beating that the R.B. 10 fret guitarCons:
To use on/with PS3 needs PS2 Ccontroller adapter (Untested)
Obviously not as detailed or rigid as Rock Band guitar. (but works great)
Manual's connectivity instructions are off (led on guitar will light up after it establishes a connection, no blinking or lighting will occur on guitar until then like stated on manual, should stay on when connection is made, took about a minute when i first hooked up after that it was almost immediate every time)
Whammy bar is smaller and requires more force to respond thus having less whammy on long notes (responds less than R.B guitar and I have to tilt parallel to guitar)
Select button is hard to reach (I prefer for overdrive sometimes)
Uses 4 batteries (R.B. guitar uses 3)
Overall I would recommend this to anyone that has a PS2 and G.H 1,2,3 and R.B.
