(More customer reviews)I purchased the stand alone software because I have the wireless guitar from GH3 already. I've heard that there's issues with the rock band guitar so I guess I'm glad I didn't buy the special edition. I am thinking about picking up the drums though. Anyways, I have to say that this game is really awesome. I like the new format with square notes rather than the circle ones and it seems like the timing is better. I've found that I'm able to hit the notes more consistently than in GH3. Also, I have to say that the track list is far superior than any of the GH games. I've played through the solo career mode already and I'm getting ready to start playing the multiplayer. I've only played it on medium thus far and I think that it was a little too easy compared to GH; I'm probably going to start trying to play the songs on hard or expert mode next. One thing I didn't like about this game is that you have to play all 5 tracks for each show before moving onto the next ones. The nice thing about GH was that you only had to play 4 of 5 so if there was a really awful song, you could just skip it. There was a couple of shows in ROck band that I didn't really care for even one of the songs or really disliked one but you have to play them all. This is probably not a big deal for some people who play all the songs no matter what but it was a little bit annoying to me.
Anyways, I can say that this game is definately worth picking up and I think it's far superior to GH3
